Ireland’s aerospace sector is making its presence felt on the global stage.
An Enterprise Ireland trade mission to the Farnborough International Airshow aims to showcase the strength of the Irish aerospace industry which contributes €4.6bn to the Irish economy and supports 44,000 jobs.
A major highlight is the expansion of Offaly-based aircraft engine specialist Euram, which has announced plans to create 45 new high-skilled jobs by 2027 as part of a significant growth programme driven by international demand.

“Ireland has established itself as a globally recognised centre of excellence in MRO and aviation services; advanced aerospace manufacturing and aircraft leasing, with a growing reputation for innovation across emerging technologies including drones, advanced air mobility and the space sector,” said Alan Dillon, TD, Minister of State for the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment.
Flying high
The trade mission includes engagements with Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier and Archer Aviation, while Irish companies are demonstrating expertise across aircraft maintenance, advanced manufacturing, drones, eVTOL technologies and space applications.
With Irish-based lessors managing aircraft assets worth approximately €270 billion, and home to 14 of the world’s top 15 aircraft lessors, Ireland continues to strengthen its position as a key player in global aviation and aerospace.
Irish-based lessors represent 69% of the global leased fleet, around 9,500 aircraft, alongside a significant future order book of more than 2,300 aircraft.
The mission aims to strengthen commercial relationships across key aerospace manufacturing hubs including the UK, US, Canada, Europe and Morocco, while positioning Ireland as a trusted partner within global aerospace, aviation and space supply chains.
