New AI-driven toolkit aims to help businesses meet regulations and reach a global market of more than 1bn users.
Irish tech start-up Nexus Inclusion has launched a new digital accessibility platform designed to help organisations improve compliance and better serve users with disabilities, supported by €3.5 million in private investment.
The company formally launched its business-to-business accessibility and inclusion software on Monday, 25 May, positioning itself to address growing regulatory and commercial pressures on companies operating online. The platform is designed to support compliance with frameworks such as the European Accessibility Act, which came into effect in June 2025.
“Most digital accessibility software can scan and identify issues. The difficult part is fixing the problem”
Despite the tightening regulatory environment, adoption of accessibility standards remains limited.
Fewer than 4% of the world’s top 1m websites currently meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. This gap is particularly significant in light of the scale of the opportunity, with an estimated one in four people in Europe living with a disability and more than one billion individuals globally falling into this category.
Research also highlights the commercial implications for businesses. Approximately 71% of users with disabilities abandon websites that are difficult to navigate, contributing to an estimated $13 billion in lost revenue each year.
Practical action on accessibility
Nexus Inclusion was founded in 2025 by Kyran O’Mahoney, a vision-impaired entrepreneur with a background in senior technology roles at organisations including Ryanair, Dunnes Stores, Vision Ireland and AIB. The company initially secured €2 million in funding and has since raised a further €1.5 million from private investors.
O’Mahoney said the company’s approach focuses on helping organisations not only identify accessibility gaps but also resolve them in a practical way.
“Most digital accessibility software can scan and identify issues. The difficult part is fixing the problem,” he said. “The Nexus Inclusion scan itself is very solutions-focused. The tools go into great detail on how to address barriers to digital accessibility.”
He added that the platform aims to provide clarity and usability for organisations with varying levels of technical expertise.
“Everything is contextualised; the platform explains why there is a problem, which disability it affects, and how to fix it. In some cases, it literally writes the code for a development team,” O’Mahoney said. “What we have created is a solution that democratises digital accessibility for businesses.”
The AI-powered software scans websites, content, images and video to identify accessibility issues and provides guidance on how to address them. It is designed to help organisations improve their digital environments for a wide range of users, including people with disabilities, neurodivergent individuals and those with varying levels of comprehension.
In addition to identifying and resolving issues, the platform allows businesses to monitor compliance over time. This ongoing assessment is intended to support both regulatory requirements and user experience, particularly in sectors such as e-commerce where accessibility can directly influence customer engagement.
Nexus Inclusion is led by a small team that includes chief operating officer Eric Neville, head of marketing Niamh O’Riordan and head of product Dara Walsh. The company currently employs eight people and plans to expand its workforce in 2026, with seven additional roles expected across sales, technology and accessibility functions.
O’Mahoney believes the platform’s ease of use will be a key differentiator as businesses seek practical solutions to meet accessibility standards.
“In my view, Nexus Inclusion is the first product to come to market that actually resolves accessibility and governance issues,” he said. “Its main distinguishing feature is that it is very intuitive and easy to use. You do not need a large budget or a high level of technical expertise.”
The platform is available on a subscription basis, with pricing starting at €49 per month. The company has introduced tiered plans aimed at organisations ranging from small businesses to large enterprises.
As regulatory requirements tighten and digital accessibility becomes an increasingly important consideration for companies, Nexus Inclusion is positioning itself as a provider of practical tools to support both compliance and wider inclusion.
