Kildare Innovation Campus secures renewable energy supply through Flogas CPPA.
Kildare Innovation Campus has signed a three-year Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA) with Flogas to supply renewable electricity from the Cuillalea Wind Farm in County Mayo.
The agreement marks a major milestone in the €2.4bn redevelopment of the campus, which aims to become Ireland’s first carbon-neutral science, innovation and technology hub.
“Sustainability is no longer a luxury; it’s a business imperative”
The CPPA will provide the campus with a fixed-price, traceable supply of renewable electricity, reducing carbon emissions by an estimated 2,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually.
The 5.1 MW Cuillalea Wind Farm will directly power the campus’ office and research facilities, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable development and energy resilience.

Allan Shine, CEO of Kildare Innovation Campus, said the agreement reflects a broader shift in business priorities.
“Sustainability is no longer a luxury; it’s a business imperative,” Shine said. “This partnership with Flogas and Cuillalea Wind Farm is a game-changer for Kildare Innovation Campus, allowing us to attract environmentally conscious tenants and investors while significantly reducing our carbon footprint.
“By choosing local, traceable, renewable wind energy from a specific renewable asset in Ireland, we are setting a new standard for sustainable commercial development in Ireland and demonstrating our commitment to a greener future.”
Flogas, which has supplied gas and power to the campus since September 2023, facilitated the CPPA and will continue to support the site’s energy needs.
John Rooney, Managing Director at Flogas Ireland, said the agreement underscores the company’s role in accelerating Ireland’s energy transition.
“This agreement demonstrates Flogas’ commitment to providing accessible and affordable renewable energy solutions to businesses across Ireland,” Rooney explained.
“By combining our strong customer relationship management, our in-depth knowledge of the Irish energy market and strategic relationships with Irish wind-power generators, we are enabling Kildare Innovation Campus to power their operations with clean, sustainable wind energy and achieve their ambitious sustainability goals.”
Rooney also noted that Flogas is exploring additional sustainability services for the campus, including Solar as a Service and offerings from other DCC group companies.
The agreement was brokered with the support of Radius, an energy consultancy that advised Kildare Innovation Campus throughout the process. Finbar Healy of Radius described the CPPA as a model for other businesses. “This CPPA is a win-win for Flogas, Kildare Innovation Campus, and the environment. It showcases the potential for smaller businesses to access renewable energy and contribute to a more sustainable future, while also supporting the growth of the Cuillalea Wind Farm.”
Knight Frank, which provides property and asset management services at the campus, also played a role in the procurement process.
“Through our partnership with Radius Energy we successfully identified the most suitable market option for our client, guaranteeing fully renewable electricity for their supply at the campus,” said David Carberry, Director of Property and Asset Management at Knight Frank.
“This solution, delivered through a Corporate Power Purchase Agreement with Flogas, offers both cost certainty and guaranteed renewable sourcing. Together with our client, we are delighted to offer occupiers the assurance that energy is being delivered in a sustainable and responsible manner.”
The CPPA positions Kildare Innovation Campus as a leader in sustainable commercial development, offering a blueprint for how large-scale infrastructure projects can integrate renewable energy from the outset.
