Irish cybersecurity start-ups to watch in 2026

Ireland’s cybersecurity start-up ecosystem stands as a dynamic and strategically vital sector, driven by innovation, collaboration, and global ambition.

With more than 500 cybersecurity companies contributing more than €1.1bn annually to the Irish economy and employing thousands, the sector is a cornerstone of Ireland’s digital resilience and economic growth.

Start-ups like Cytidel, Siren, Tines, and Vaultree exemplify the ecosystem’s strength. Cytidel is redefining vulnerability management through real-time threat intelligence, while Tines has become a global leader in security automation. Vaultree is pioneering fully homomorphic encryption, enabling data to remain encrypted even during processing – an innovation with profound implications for privacy and compliance.

“The sector’s importance is underscored by its role in national security, economic development, and Ireland’s positioning as a European cybersecurity hub”

Companies such as Ekco, Corrata, Edgescan, and Getvisibility are scaling rapidly, offering solutions from secure cloud infrastructure to mobile threat defense and AI-driven data classification. Meanwhile, 4Securitas, Advantio, and CalypsoAI are addressing compliance, risk, and AI security challenges, respectively.

This ecosystem thrives on collaboration between academia, government, and industry, supported by initiatives like Cyber Ireland and MTU’s Cyber Innovate. The sector’s importance is underscored by its role in national security, economic development, and Ireland’s positioning as a European cybersecurity hub.

With a projected market value of €250bn globally and a 15% annual growth rate, Ireland’s cybersecurity start-ups are not only safeguarding digital infrastructure but also shaping the future of global cyber defence.
