Limerick managed services firm FutureRange is advancing an all-island growth strategy with the acquisition of Echo IT, its second acquisition so far this year.
FutureRange has completed its second acquisition of the year with the purchase of Nenagh-based IT services firm EchoIT, marking a further expansion of its footprint in Munster and reinforcing its ambitions to scale across the island of Ireland.
The Limerick-headquartered managed services provider said the deal forms part of its broader growth strategy, which includes plans to create up to 50 new roles over the next 24 months.
“We are seeing consistent demand from organisations for partners who can provide clarity, security and long-term support as their environments become more complex”
The expansion comes as demand continues to rise for cyber security, cloud computing and outsourced IT services among organisations navigating increasingly complex technology environments.
Echo IT, which serves clients across sectors including veterinary, distribution, medical and agri-food, will be integrated into FutureRange’s existing Limerick operations. The company said the transition will prioritise continuity of service for customers while enhancing its ability to deliver locally across the region.
Munster ambition goes nationwide
FutureRange positions itself as a security-focused managed services partner, offering capabilities across cybersecurity, cloud and infrastructure services, alongside support for organisations adopting data and artificial intelligence technologies in a structured way.
The two companies already have an established working relationship, particularly in cyber security, with shared technology platforms and a similar approach to service delivery. This alignment is expected to support a smooth integration process.
Danny McEntee, managing director of FutureRange, said the acquisition reflects measured progress against the company’s long-term plans.
“This is another step in delivering our all-island growth strategy. Echo IT is a strong regional business with deep client relationships, and there is a natural fit in how we approach service delivery and technology,” he said.
He noted that client demand continues to evolve as businesses place greater emphasis on resilience, security and long-term IT planning.
“We are seeing consistent demand from organisations for partners who can provide clarity, security and long-term support as their environments become more complex,” McEntee said. “This strengthens our ability to deliver that across the country, and we will continue to invest where it supports our clients and our long-term strategy.”
FutureRange indicated it will continue to evaluate further acquisition and growth opportunities as part of its expansion programme.
Echo IT managing director Donal Bray described the deal as a positive development for both clients and employees, highlighting the benefits of scale and broader capabilities.
“We have built Echo IT around strong relationships and a practical, client-first approach,” he said. “Joining FutureRange allows us to continue that while giving our clients access to broader expertise and a more resilient service platform.”
The transaction underlines ongoing consolidation in Ireland’s managed services sector, as providers seek to expand geographic reach and deepen capabilities in response to growing customer requirements around cyber security and digital transformation.
For FutureRange, the addition of Echo IT represents a further step in building regional strength while investing in the skills and infrastructure needed to support a widening client base.
