Meath business Designer Group targets 75 new jobs over the next five years.
Designer Group has opened a €10 million modular manufacturing facility in Kells, Co Meath, as part of a strategy to expand its off-site construction capabilities for clients in data centres, energy and pharmaceuticals.
The 4,000 sq m workshop will allow the Dublin-headquartered mechanical and electrical engineering firm to scale production and deliver prefabricated components to sites across Ireland, the UK and Europe.
“Speed, certainty and sustainability are now at the forefront”
The company expects to create up to 75 jobs over the next five years in engineering, fabrication and logistics.
Long-term employment
Paul Nicholls, group managing director, said the investment reflects a shift in how complex projects are delivered.
“Speed, certainty and sustainability are now at the forefront,” he said. “Our new facility enables us to deliver high-quality prefabricated modules off-site, driving greater efficiency, cost certainty and reduced risk for our clients.”
Nicholls added that the investment strengthens Designer Group’s local footprint.
“This facility supports long-term employment in Co Meath with the creation of skilled, management and apprenticeship roles over the coming years,” he said.
Designer Group has provided modular and off-site solutions for several years, but the new purpose-built workshop is designed to increase capacity and improve efficiency as demand for prefabricated solutions grows.
