DataSolutions to be acquired by IT giant Climb

Irish business DataSolutions is to be acquired by Climb Global Solutions for an undisclosed sum, creating a new power player in the UK and Irish tech market.

Irish business DataSolutions is to be acquired by Climb Global Solutions for an undisclosed sum.

The 31-year-old Irish business will play an integral role in strengthening Climb’s activities in the Ireland and UK tech markets.

Last year DataSolutions’ CEO Michael O’Hara told ThinkBusiness that the business was on a trajectory to reach revenues of €200m by 2025 after surpassing the €100m milestone last year.

At the time of writing DataSolutions reported revenues of €126m, indicating double-digit growth on the previous year.

European growth

For more than 40 years, Climb Global Solutions has been connecting partners with emerging IT products and disruptive technologies. A leading value-added distributor, it delivers innovative solutions and services across the areas of virtualisation, cloud computing, security, connectivity, storage and infrastructure.

Further, DataSolutions has established a robust recurring revenue base, with more than 90% of its fiscal 2023 revenue coming from existing reseller partners.”

DataSolutions is an Ireland-based, specialist IT distributor serving the Irish and UK reseller markets. Its offering includes solutions across the areas of hybrid multi-cloud, cyber security, digital workspace and networking. It addresses the complex challenges around securing, managing and accessing data and applications spread across hybrid multi-cloud, while offering leading cyber security solutions that cover a wide range of risk mitigants.

The Irish company brings its share of the Irish market and growing position in the UK to Climb, with 14 carefully selected blue-chip vendor partners – including Check Point, Citrix, Vercara, HPE Aruba, IGEL, Cato Networks and ColorTokens. For the fiscal year ended March 2023, DataSolutions reported revenue of approximately $136 million (€126 million), signifying double-digit growth from the prior fiscal year.
