‘Vouch For’ platform emerges to support local businesses

Dublin video hiring company Recroot has created ‘Vouch For’, a non-profit platform where independent cafés, bars and restaurants can sell vouchers to be redeemed in store when they reopen.

Independent businesses nationwide are being encouraged to sign up at vouchfor.ie

Due to COVID-19, the Recroot team became aware of the devastating effects this would have on the hospitality industry and the more than 100 stores using Recroot in Dublin.

“We are calling for businesses to sign up, and for customers to support during these times”

‘Vouch For’ helps independent cafés, bars and restaurants who do not have the ability to sell vouchers online, and in most cases, don’t have an online presence. Independents who already sell vouchers online can still be listed on the website.

Help your community

Recroot, an end to end video based hiring platform for the hospitality industry, was accepted onto the Techstars Accelerator in Berlin, and had closed a pre-seed round to expand its operations into mainland Europe.

“There is a huge generosity of spirit and sense of community right now in Ireland, and we want to do our part to help our community cafés, bars and restaurants through this crisis,” said Nev Flynn co-founder of Vouch For.

“We are calling for businesses to sign up, and for customers to support during these times,” Flynn said.

Vouch For has teamed up with Stripe, to offer completely commission free transactions and to help these independents with cash flow issues, and to stay afloat while the crisis continues.
