70 tourism business leaders skill up for long-term recovery

The Fáilte Ireland programme’s focus was about sustaining businesses and jobs through strategy development and innovation.

70 key industry leaders from across the country have completed a purpose-built Strategic Leadership, Resilience, and Innovation in a Time of Crisis programme.

The programme was developed in partnership with major US institution Cornell University.

“We believe that the skills, learnings and peer support this programme delivered left these businesses in a much stronger position as they focus on driving long-term recovery”

The Programme was a crucial and important step for those tourism businesses to ensure they have relevant strategies for short-term survival, while also creating a platform for recovery and long term growth post Covid.

The right education at the right time

“We were pleased that so many of the tourism businesses took time out of their busy schedule to receive their certificates at a ceremony in the Guinness Storehouse, with many saying that the programme was exactly the right programme at the right time,” said Martina Kerr-Bromley, Fáilte Ireland’s head of Enterprise Development.

“The programme’s focus was about sustaining businesses and jobs through strategy development, innovation, and execution of three stages: The Pause/Survival phase, the Recovery phase, and the Growth phase.

“We believe that the skills, learnings and peer support this programme delivered left these businesses in a much stronger position as they focus on driving long-term recovery.”
