1-in-4 Irish businesses are not ready for the auto-enrolment pension rollout in January.
Irish employee benefits platform Kota has launched the country’s first instant auto-enrolment pension solution, designed to help employers meet new statutory requirements ahead of the January 2026 rollout.
The launch follows Kota’s €12.6m Series A investment in May and comes as one in four businesses remain unprepared for the upcoming pension reform.
“We’ve built a solution for companies that want more control over employee experience, cost, and compliance, without the complexity”
The new platform enables HR and finance teams to implement a compliant occupational pension in minutes. Employers can sync employee data, set contribution levels, and automatically enroll eligible hires. Employees gain access to a user-friendly app to manage their retirement savings.
Making compliance simple
“We’ve spent thousands of hours working alongside Irish employers as they prepare for the upcoming changes,” said Trevor Gardiner, head of Benefits at Kota. “Auto-enrolment has prompted employers to talk seriously about retirement benefits.
“But from our conversations, it’s clear the State scheme will not suit every organisation. That’s why we’ve built a solution for companies that want more control over employee experience, cost, and compliance, without the complexity.”
Kota’s platform addresses common concerns with the Government’s ‘My Future Fund’, including limited flexibility, fixed contribution rates, and a salary cap of €80,000. The company’s technology ensures compliance by integrating with HR systems and automating enrolment.
To support employers, Kota will host a nationwide roadshow beginning September 2, visiting 13 counties and hosting 20 events. The sessions will offer readiness checks and practical guidance to help businesses prepare for the January 1 deadline.
“Thousands of Irish employers are telling us that auto-enrolment is a growing concern, with little guidance from traditional brokers,” added Luke Mackey, co‑founder and CEO of Kota.
“Our goal is to make compliance effortless in just a few clicks, while giving employees the transparent, mobile‑first experience they expect. We believe this is the easiest path for companies that want to do right by their employees without the unpredictable workload that often accompanies compliance.”
