Dubsof raises $6.5m to double Dublin team

Founded by three 22-year-olds, Dublin start-up Dubsof will recruit engineers, designers and commercial staff following backing from BlueYard, Backed, Cocoa and Project Europe as it opens AI platform to more businesses.

Dublin technology company Dubsof has raised $6.5 million (€5.5 million) as it prepares to move its business software platform from beta to general availability and double its workforce over the next 12 months.

The company will recruit engineers, designers and commercial staff, with all roles based full time at its Merrion Square office in Dublin.

“Dubsof exists to build a better economy, to solve coordination between people and companies”

Founded by 22-year-olds Aidan McNeill, George O’Leary and Bastien Saidi, Dubsof is developing a platform designed to connect businesses and create bespoke software based on how individual companies operate.

The platform brings information that would typically be spread across inboxes, accounts, job sheets and group chats into a live record of a company’s operations. Dubsof then builds applications on top of that system and manages areas including hosting, security and ongoing improvements.

KEY NUMBERS: Dubsof funding and growth

  • $6.5m (€5.5m) raised to support expansion and general availability
  • 12 months to double the Dublin-based team
  • Three 22-year-old founders behind the company
  • Four venture investors: BlueYard, Backed, Cocoa and Project Europe
  • 200+ European founders backing Project Europe
  • Five technical disciplines currently targeted for recruitment
  • 2025 company founded in Dublin after a San Francisco hacker house
  • 100% office-based roles at Merrion Square, Dublin

Editorial takeaway: The funding gives Dubsof the firepower to scale its Dublin team and move its AI-powered business software beyond beta as customer demand grows.

Moving from stealth mode to cruise

Dubsof spent a year building the technology in stealth and is currently running the platform in beta with a selected group of customers. The company said demand has reached a level where it cannot currently accommodate all of the businesses seeking to use the service.

One customer is road surfacing contractor Stanley Asphalt, which has moved its fleet management, scheduling, compliance and office work from a whiteboard to a live system on Dubsof.

Speaking about the company’s ambitions, co-founder and chief executive Aidan McNeill said: “Dubsof exists to build a better economy, to solve coordination between people and companies. Most working time goes on admin and coordination, and we want people to spend it on the work only they do best.”

McNeill founded the company with chief commercial officer George O’Leary and chief technology officer Bastien Saidi.

The three founders met through Patch, the Irish summer accelerator for young people. The idea for Dubsof emerged while they were in a San Francisco hacker house they organised in the summer of 2025. They returned to Ireland and started the company in Dublin that August.

Investors in the funding round include BlueYard, Backed, Cocoa and Project Europe, which is backed by more than 200 European founders.

The company has also attracted a group of angel investors that includes David Singleton, former chief technology officer of Stripe; Matt Fitzpatrick, chief executive of Invisible Technologies and former global head of QuantumBlack Labs at McKinsey; Dylan Collins, founder of Demonware and SuperAwesome; and Jack Cantillon, Mark Maxwell and Chris Mairs.

Hiring in Dublin

Dubsof plans to use the investment to expand its Dublin operation as it makes the platform available to more businesses.

The company is recruiting core software engineers, full-stack software engineers and infrastructure software engineers, alongside product designers and TechOps engineers. It is also expanding its sales and customer delivery teams.

Dubsof builds its technology in Dublin while recruiting across Europe. Every position is full time and office-based at Merrion Square.

George O’Leary, co-founder and chief commercial officer, said early demand was coming from companies operating across sectors including civil engineering, industrial automation and haulage.

“The businesses we work with keep the country running, from civil engineering to industrial automation and haulage, and none of them have ever had software built around how they actually work. We are already at the limit of what we can take on, and this funding lets us bring Dubsof to the businesses waiting for it.”

McNeill said the founders’ decision to establish the company in Ireland was influenced by the availability of engineering talent.

“We could have stayed in San Francisco. We came home because the engineering talent in Ireland is as good as anywhere in the world, and a lot of it is untapped. This funding means we can double our team in Dublin and bring Dubsof to more of the businesses asking for it.”

Building reliable AI-generated software

A central engineering challenge for Dubsof is generating complete software that businesses can use in their day-to-day operations.

The company says its approach focuses on creating foundations where systems can catch mistakes by design, rather than relying on improvements in AI models alone.

Bastien Saidi, co-founder and chief technology officer, said reliability was essential when AI-generated technology was being used to run business operations.

“A business can’t run on software that’s right most of the time. Making AI-built systems reliable means rethinking the foundations, not waiting for a better model, and we want the best engineers in Europe doing it with us in Dublin.”

Dubsof has outlined its engineering approach in an essay titled Vibe Coding Is an XY Problem published on its engineering blog.

With the new funding secured, the company is preparing to take its platform beyond beta while expanding its team in Dublin to meet existing customer demand.
