Water filtration business to grow workforce to almost 300 employees by 2029 as demand rises for sustainable drinking water solutions.
Culligan Ireland has announced a multi-million-euro investment that will support the creation of 102 new jobs over the next three years as the water filtration specialist expands its operations nationwide.
The company plans to recruit 54 new employees by summer 2027, increasing its workforce to 250 people. A further 48 positions will be filled by 2029, bringing total employment to almost 300.
“We are fortunate to have high-quality, natural water sources in Ireland, but many still struggle to navigate hard water, limescale, chlorine and other contaminants”
The new roles will include water softening and filtration technicians, customer service agents, water delivery drivers and water cooler technicians. Recruitment will take place nationwide as the business responds to growing demand across commercial, public sector and residential markets.
Culligan Ireland, which operates depots in Dublin, Galway and Cork, said the investment will also support the expansion of its delivery fleet, which it describes as the largest in-house delivery team in the Irish water services sector.
Scaling sustainably
John O’Connor, Managing Director of Culligan Ireland, said the investment will strengthen the company’s ability to serve customers across the country.
“We are fortunate to have high-quality, natural water sources in Ireland, but many still struggle to navigate hard water, limescale, chlorine and other contaminants,” said O’Connor.
“Our investment enables us to sustainably enhance Culligan Ireland’s services and solutions for businesses and households across Ireland.”
The company said its teams deliver more than 600,000 reusable 19-litre water bottle drums to businesses throughout Ireland every year. Through its range of services and solutions, Culligan estimates this provides more than 11.35 million litres of water annually while reducing reliance on single-use plastic bottles.
Globally, the company said Culligan services and solutions have helped reduce the need for 45 billion single-use plastic bottles.
The latest expansion follows a period of sustained growth for the business. Since 2023, Culligan Ireland has increased its workforce by 55%, reflecting revenue growth and rising demand for filtered water in workplaces and homes.
O’Connor said customer service will remain central to the company’s growth strategy.
“As we expand our workforce by 54 new team members by summer 2027, and further over the next three years, our focus remains on delivering exceptional customer experiences,” he said.
“Our proposition is unique in this market. We design and build our products. At Culligan, we are incredibly proud to operate the industry’s largest delivery fleet, with unmatched water service experience and high-quality solutions.”
Culligan Ireland’s recent growth has been supported by a number of acquisitions, including the commercial drinking water divisions of Tipperary Water and Glenpatrick Water, as well as Celtic Water Solutions and Waterlogic.
The company says it is now the largest provider of water filtration services in Ireland, serving homes, businesses and public sector organisations nationwide.
