Apache Pizza tops 30 years in Ireland with 120 new jobs

Apache Pizza to open 12 new outlets nationwide as online sales and franchise growth power next phase.

Apache Pizza is marking 30 years in Ireland with an expansion plan that will see 120 new jobs created and 12 additional stores opened across Ireland this year.

The homegrown pizza chain, which opened its first outlet in Dublin on 9 June 1996, is marketing the occasion by giving away free pizza slices between 4pm and 6pm at each of its 200 outlets.

“Our success is down to being local to homes, businesses and schools and to making great tasting pizzas with plenty of extra toppings”

The business says the latest phase of growth is underway with 40 of the new jobs created through the opening of new restaurants in Cork, Limerick and Kerry.

A further eight outlets are planned between now and December, bringing an additional 80 roles across supervisory, management, customer service and delivery positions.

Apache Pizza, which employs 2,500 people, sold more than 4m pizzas in 2025 and remains the largest pizza chain in the Irish market.

Digital feeds future plans

Apache Pizza’s expansion is being fuelled by continued investment in its online platform and growing online sales.

New product innovation including the launch of the popular Spice Bag, Hot Honey and Kebab ranges have also attracted new customers, generating strong sales in-store and online.

“We are thrilled to turn 30 today and to celebrate ‘Apache Day’ with the many thousands of customers who continue to make Apache Pizza such an incredible Irish success story,” said Derek Mulligan, CEO of Apache Pizza.

“Apache Pizza is exceptionally proud to be the largest and most popular pizza brand in Ireland, and to continue growing with 12 new stores and 120 new jobs this year. Our success is down to being local to homes, businesses and schools and to making great tasting pizzas with plenty of extra toppings,” he said.

“Our franchise model has been another key driver in our success. We enable people from all backgrounds to join the business and to grow within it. We provide all the tools and support they need to succeed, covering everything from the art of making great pizza to managing multiple stores,” he added.

Slice, slice, baby!

While Dublin is clearly the number 1 county in Ireland for ordering Apache Pizza it is followed in the Top 10 Rankings by counties 2. Cork, 3. Kildare, 4. Galway, 5. Meath, 6. Antrim, 7. Donegal, 8. Mayo, 9. Down and 10. Kerry.

The Top 3 Selling Pizzas are the Apache Pepperoni, Apache Plain Cheese, and Apache Buffalo. Saturday is the most popular day for online orders.

And the age-old argument about whether to put pineapple on pizza is settled by the fact that the Apache Hawaiian pizza is the 6th best seller in Ireland.
