Xtreme success for Irish company Xtremepush

Irish company Xtremepush continued what has been a fantastic 2019 by securing first place in the Customer Experience category at the Deloitte Financial Services Innovation Awards.

Leading Irish mobile marketing platform Xtremepush continue to grow from strength to strength after winning an award at the Deloitte Financial Services Innovation Awards.

The Dublin-based software firm secured first place in the Customer Experience category for supporting banks with their understanding of customers behaviour when using digital channels.

Xtremepush, which was established in 2014 by tech entrepreneur Tommy Kearns and Dr Kevin Collins, describes itself as the “intelligence layer that sits on top of a bank’s backend system and unifies disparate data sources”.

“We have seen increases of 7-10pc in the number of mobile app users successfully registered”

CEO Tommy Kearns explained, “Primarily, we enable financial institutions to drive three key business goals. These are to enhance customer experience with relevant, right-time messaging, reduce costs through automation and drive revenue from upsell opportunities.”

Engagement is key

Mr Kearns revealed that research conducted by Xtremepush found that banks were having difficulties understanding their digital users’ behaviour. Data indicated that 11% of those who download a banking app do not successfully log in.

“Among the ways that we address this is delivery of appropriate in-app messaging, educating the user and nudging them towards goal completion,” said Mr Kearns.

“For example, following the next failed log-in attempt, the user might receive an in-app message asking them if they have signed up for online banking,” he added.

The results are impressive. “Across our clients, we have seen increases of 7-10pc in the number of mobile app users successfully registered.”

Xtremepush can also help banks track online applications for loans and mortgages that have high drop-off rates due to the long number of sections that need to be completed.

“Our platform tracks each applicant’s progress and re-engages them at a later time,” Kearns explains.

“Using our loan re-engagement strategy, a Tier One banking client increased the value of their loan book by 150pc over a nine-month period.”

Success

The Xtremepush platform integrates with core banking solutions such as Temenos, Finastra, Fiserv and Finacle with full bank-grade security.

The Deloitte award for Xtremepush follows another recent success story when it became the first Irish tech business to earn a place in the 2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Mobile Marketing Platforms.

“Using our loan re-engagement strategy, a Tier One banking client increased the value of their loan book by 150pc over a nine-month period”

Gartner is one of the world’s most recognised IT consultancy firms and the Magic Quadrant is an independent report published yearly.

CTO of Xtremepush, Kevin Collins, says inclusion in the 2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant reflects the swift progress the young company has made on its business expansion roadmap.

Xtremepush has had 100pc year-on-year new business growth for the past three years and actively looks for acquisition targets globally to complement the platform solution.

In 2018, Xtremepush successfully acquired Emailcenter, a leading email service provider in the UK. The Gartner report notes this was a shrewd move, “bolstering its already robust support for all major mobile and web message techniques”.
