Irish hair restoration venture Total Hair Restoration targets UK expansion after €1m launch investment.
Total Hair Restoration, a young Irish company backed by senior healthcare and aesthetic‑industry executives, is preparing for significant expansion after investing about €1m in its first clinic and building a fast‑growing patient base.
The business opened quietly in Malahide, Dublin, in 2025 with a promise to offer what it describes as affordable, medically led hair restoration and hair‑loss treatments.
“I felt confident we could bring an offering to market that focuses on quality at a fair price. Our patients are people, not sales targets”
Since then it has carried out more than 150 procedures and has recorded double‑digit monthly growth, according to the company.
Sustained growth
Its model centres on a fixed price of €6,495 for a full restoration procedure. Management argues that this compares favourably with prevailing Irish prices, and includes a structured aftercare programme and access to 0% finance from €163 per month.
The clinic says its approach aims to reduce the trend of Irish consumers travelling to Turkey for cheaper operations where follow‑up care may be limited.
The company has also built demand for non‑surgical treatments such as platelet‑rich plasma therapy. Hundreds of patients have attended for PRP, a treatment that the clinic says can help when a full transplant is unnecessary.
Total Hair Restoration is led by Mike Malone, an industry executive with more than 15 years’ experience in Irish healthcare roles, including Centric Health and Neuromod. He previously launched Ireland’s first dermatology telemedicine clinic and is on the management team of Optiman Clinic, a men’s health provider.
Malone said his own experience undergoing a procedure abroad shaped the company’s ethos. “I can attest to the positive impact the results can have on confidence,” he said. “But the experience in many overseas clinics and some Irish clinics is lacking in quality, transparency and aftercare. I felt confident we could bring an offering to market that focuses on quality at a fair price. Our patients are people, not sales targets.”
He added that patient feedback has underscored the psychological value of the procedures. “It has become clear that hair restoration is about much more than physical appearance. Our patients talk about how good they feel, and that means a great deal to the team.”
The business uses follicle‑identification technology during its free consultation stage to assess the strength and viability of each patient’s donor hair. The company says this enables clinicians to recommend the most suitable course of treatment, including alternatives to surgery.
The clinic has earned more than 50 five‑star reviews, according to the company, and plans to add two further doctors to meet demand. After opening satellite sites in Galway and Cork, it expects to launch in Limerick and Belfast shortly, creating what it describes as an all‑island service.
A move into the UK market is planned before the end of the year. The company’s strategic partner is Phillip McGlade, chief executive of Thérapie Medical Group, whose portfolio includes Thérapie Clinic, Optilase and Thérapie Fertility. McGlade is a shareholder in the business.
He said the company had potential beyond Ireland. “There is a huge opportunity for Mike and the team in the European market,” he said. “Consumer interest in hair restoration is stronger than ever, and the business model that Mike has developed will be very successful.”
Malone said he sees room for sustained growth. “We are offering a full 360‑degree service for anyone experiencing hair loss, and we want clients to access care without worrying about excessive costs,” he said. “Our straight‑talking approach is clearly what people want.”
