Applegreen to open new Taco Bell outlets in Dublin and Cork as part of €50m Irish investment.
Applegreen will open two new Taco Bell restaurants in Dublin and Cork before the end of the year, creating 60 new jobs as part of its €50m investment programme in Ireland.
The new outlets will be located at Lusk Northbound on the M1 motorway and at Ballincollig in Cork. Both sites are undergoing major refurbishments that will also include new M&S Food shop-in-shop outlets, Crafted Kitchen & Deli operations, and a standalone Braeburn Café at Lusk.
“Our goal is to offer our customers passionate roadside hospitality by partnering with brands such as Taco Bell and Marks & Spencer, as well as enhancing our own brand offering with Braeburn Café and Crafted”
The company opened Ireland’s first Taco Bell restaurant in Dunshaughlin, Co Meath, in September and plans to expand the brand further across its Irish network. The partnership with the US-based fast food chain is part of Applegreen’s broader strategy to diversify its food and beverage offerings.

“We’re delighted to transform our existing sites at Lusk Northbound on the M1 and at Ballincollig in Cork with these new brands and significant in-store enhancements,” said Seamus Stapleton, managing director of Applegreen’s Republic of Ireland business.
“Our goal is to offer our customers passionate roadside hospitality by partnering with brands such as Taco Bell and Marks & Spencer, as well as enhancing our own brand offering with Braeburn Café and Crafted.”
Applegreen is also expanding its partnership with M&S Food. With the addition of the Lusk and Ballincollig locations, the company will operate 35 M&S Food outlets in Ireland, with plans to grow this number to more than 60 in the medium term. Customers will have access to over 400 M&S products, including fresh flowers, sandwiches, salads, and popular items such as Colin the Caterpillar cakes and Percy Pig sweets.
Both sites will also offer a Click & Collect service for M&S Clothing and selected Home product ranges, allowing customers to order online and pick up their purchases in-store.
The Crafted Kitchen & Deli will feature a mix of new products and existing favourites, including chicken fillet rolls and breakfast rolls. The Braeburn Café at Lusk will be the tenth standalone location for Applegreen’s premium coffee brand, which is now available in more than 100 outlets nationwide.
The upgrades form part of Applegreen’s €1 billion global expansion plan, which includes investments in Ireland, the UK and the United States over the next five years. The company currently operates nearly 200 locations in Ireland and more than 430 globally, with over 700 branded food offers across its network.
Applegreen employs approximately 16,000 people and serves around 180 million customers annually. In the United States, it operates 181 sites and recently began work on a $70m project to build four highway service plazas in Colorado. In the UK, its Welcome Break subsidiary runs 60 sites, including 36 motorway service areas and 31 hotels. The company plans to invest £400m in its UK operations over the next five years.
Applegreen is also preparing a €85m investment to expand its electric vehicle charging infrastructure across Ireland, the UK and the US.
