NTT DATA to create 150 jobs with Dublin expansion

Global tech firm NTT DATA deepens Irish presence with AI and R&D focus.

NTT DATA has opened a new Dublin office as part of a €16.5 million investment in Ireland, strengthening its commitment to Ireland’s growing role as a European centre for advanced technology and digital services.

The global IT and consulting group said the investment will support expansion in artificial intelligence and digital services research and development, as well as ongoing recruitment.

“The organisations that move decisively on AI will define their industries for years to come, and we intend to be the partner that helps Ireland’s leading enterprises do exactly that”

The company has created 100 jobs in Ireland since January 2025, increasing its local workforce by almost 50 per cent, and plans to hire a further 50 employees over the next six months.

The new office will serve a client base that spans sectors including banking, insurance and telecommunications, with companies such as Three Ireland and eir among its Irish customers.

Dynamic tech sector

Niccolo Spataro, executive managing director for the UK and Ireland at NTT DATA, said Ireland remains a priority market for the business.

“Ireland has a growing economy and a well-established and dynamic tech sector. Today’s announcement reflects our commitment to Ireland,” he said.

“The organisations that move decisively on AI will define their industries for years to come, and we intend to be the partner that helps Ireland’s leading enterprises do exactly that.”

The official opening took place in Dublin on Wednesday and was attended by Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Peter Burke, TD, along with Japan’s ambassador to Ireland, Miyagawa Manabu.

The event included demonstrations of emerging technologies being developed by the company and its partners.

Researchers from Trinity College Dublin presented work on the Innovative Optical and Wireless Network, or IOWN, a communications infrastructure that aims to significantly improve data capacity and energy efficiency while reducing latency.

NTT DATA also highlighted its collaboration with Kinia, an Irish education-focused social enterprise, which is aimed at supporting the development of AI and digital skills among younger people.

The Dublin expansion follows the company’s acquisition of Alchemy Technology Services, a Northern Ireland-based firm, in October 2025. That deal strengthened NTT DATA’s capabilities in insurance technology and expanded its offering to clients in the specialty insurance market.

Minister Burke said the investment reflects international confidence in Ireland as a technology location.

“This €16.5 million commitment, alongside the creation of high-quality jobs, is a strong vote of confidence in Ireland’s position as a leading global technology hub,” he said.

“Investments like this support innovation, research and the development of critical skills and opportunities across our economy.”

IDA Ireland chief executive Michael Lohan also welcomed the move, pointing to the wider impact on the country’s technology ecosystem.

“NTT DATA’s new Dublin office and investment is a clear sign of the company’s long-term commitment to growing its presence here,” he said.

“A key part of our strategy is to support Ireland as a global location for next-generation technologies, including AI, and to help companies scale high-value capabilities from Ireland for international markets.”

He added that the company’s focus on research and development would deepen collaboration with Irish talent and academic institutions while supporting innovation across industry.

NTT DATA operates in more than 70 countries worldwide and has been steadily expanding its footprint in Ireland in recent years, aligning its investment with demand for AI-led transformation across enterprise sectors.
