My Business Life: Niresh Moodley, YourTeam

Niresh Moodley, founder and CEO of YourTeam, shares his life and business lessons.

Niresh Moodley set up outsourcing firm YourTeam in 2022.

The company sources highly skilled employees in India and the Philippines to help fill a shortage of positions in Ireland and currently employs 10 people at its Irish headquarters in Dublin with an additional 250 based in its offices overseas.

“ By 2027, we aim to scale to 1,250 offshore staff and 50 in Ireland”

With a career spanning continents – from launching mobile retail ventures in Canada to leading operations in Ireland – Niresh brings strategic insight, financial acumen, and a passion for building global teams.

What journey did you take to arrive at where you are?

From an early age, I was entrepreneurial – launching a dog food business at 15 and a video rental company at 19 to fund my college days. I trained as a chartered accountant and began my career as a financial controller for a mobile operator.

I then founded and sold four phone shops in Dublin before moving to Canada, where I built StudentPhones partnering with the Canadian Federation of Students and operating on 74 campuses nationwide. Also, we launched and operated 22 mobile retail stores nationwide for the large networks.

After 16 years abroad, I returned to Ireland and joined a leading waste collection company becoming operations director – my first role as an employee in two decades.

It was there I saw the transformative power of outsourcing, which inspired me to launch YourTeam in 2022.

Why are you doing what you’re doing? What need are you meeting? What’s your USP?

Ireland’s full employment has created a talent shortage in areas like IT, finance, customer service, and marketing. YourTeam addresses this by sourcing top-tier professionals from India and the Philippines.

“While cost savings are clear, businesses are cautious about handing over their brand. We overcame this through consistent quality, transparency, and strong client advocacy”

Our USP is premium outsourcing: combining offshore talent with local leadership to deliver up to 80% cost savings without compromising quality.

We invest in our people – paying well, providing excellent work environments, and hiring strong managers which allows us to attract and retain the best.

How did you fund and start the business, and what are your growth plans?

YourTeam was self-funded, built on my experience and network. We started small and now have 10 staff in Dublin and 250 offshore. By 2027, we aim to scale to 1,250 offshore staff and 50 in Ireland.

What key skills and qualities set you apart?

  • Strategic thinking
  • Financial acumen
  • Entrepreneurial resilience
  • Cross-cultural leadership
  • Deep expertise in outsourcing and global talent sourcing

Who or what helped you most along the way? Greatest mentor/inspiration?

My time in Canada was pivotal as working with student organisations and telecom networks taught me the power of partnerships.

I’m inspired by Richard Branson’s leadership style: empowering teams as brand ambassadors. Meeting him and negotiating a deal with Virgin Mobile was a standout moment.

What’s the best business advice you’ve received?

A friend’s father once said: “Service isn’t what you offer – it’s how you make people feel.”

This philosophy shapes our culture and client experience.

What marks the difference between success and failure in business?

I think there are a few key points that mark the difference between success and failure:

  • Adaptability – continuously evolving
    • Inspiration – rallying your team around a shared vision
    • Vision – knowing which opportunities to pursue or pass
    • Execution – turning ideas into results

What was the most challenging aspect of starting or growing the business?

Building trust in outsourcing. While cost savings are clear, businesses are cautious about handing over their brand. We overcame this through consistent quality, transparency, and strong client advocacy.

Navigating the pandemic – what lessons were learned?

YourTeam was born during the pandemic, which validated remote work and global collaboration. With the right tech, working with talent in Manila is as seamless as working with someone in Dublin.

What are your thoughts on digital transformation and Irish firms?

Digital tools such as cloud computing, cybersecurity, VPNs, and project management platforms have been central to our growth. Irish businesses have embraced these technologies, especially post-COVID.

If you could do it all again, what would you change?

I’d start outsourcing earlier. The scalability and efficiency are transformative.

Who inspires you in business today?

I’m inspired every day by the people I work with – our team at YourTeam and the partners who trust us with their business.

Seeing our managers lead with integrity, our offshore staff deliver excellence, and our clients collaborate with us to build something meaningful is incredibly motivating.

It’s the daily interactions, shared wins, and mutual respect that fuel my passion for what we do. Partnerships built on trust, and a shared vision are what truly inspire me.

What advice do you have for new hires and nurturing talent?

We encourage feedback and ideas from all team members, regardless of role or location. Great managers help cultivate talent and creativity. We celebrate wins together and foster a culture of shared success.

What are your preferred social media platforms and why?

LinkedIn is great for professional networking and thought leadership while I find that YouTube is a good platform for showcasing client success stories and company culture

Where is technology heading and how will it impact business?

Technology is moving toward AI-driven automation, hyper-personalisation, and borderless collaboration. For YourTeam, this means smarter recruitment, deeper client insights, and 24/7 service delivery.

What advice would you give your 21-year-old self?

Define success early and have an exit strategy. Strive for excellence, be bold, and live outside your comfort zone.
