MKO to add 75 jobs in nationwide expansion of environmental consultancy.
Planning and environmental consultancy MKO plans to create 75 new jobs over the next three years, expanding its workforce to more than 300 employees.
The strategic growth initiative will support MKO’s mission to address key environmental and societal challenges through its planning, environmental, and ecology divisions.
“To add a further 75 professionals to increase the capability and capacity of our already talented teams will really help us do more for our clients and their projects at a time of unprecedented demand for our services”
The new roles will be distributed across MKO’s offices in Dublin and Galway, as well as remote locations nationwide. Recruitment is already underway, targeting both experienced professionals and recent graduates.
Decarbonising Ireland
Founded in 2008, MKO is a wholly Irish-owned firm known for its work on complex planning and environmental projects across sectors including infrastructure, housing, and renewable energy. The company’s expansion aligns with national priorities to decarbonise the economy and accelerate infrastructure delivery.
Brian Keville, Managing Director of MKO, said the expansion reflects growing demand for the company’s services.
“MKO is a people-based, people-centered business. To add a further 75 professionals to increase the capability and capacity of our already talented teams will really help us do more for our clients and their projects at a time of unprecedented demand for our services,” he said.
Minister Jack Chambers TD, who attended the announcement, highlighted MKO’s role in enabling the delivery of government-funded infrastructure projects. “Companies such as MKO are critical to delivering the planning consents and environmental assessments essential to deliver the infrastructure projects funded by the Government’s updated National Development Plan,” he said.
Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, Peter Burke, welcomed the announcement as a boost to Ireland’s sustainability and infrastructure goals.
“By creating 75 highly skilled jobs and expanding its consulting services, MKO is strengthening the transformation of infrastructural development and reinforcing the importance and necessity of building sustainability and environmental practices into all parts of the planning process,” he said.
Enterprise Ireland, which supports MKO as a client company, also endorsed the expansion. Mark Christal, Head of Sustainability at Enterprise Ireland, said: “Supporting Irish companies with the ambition to scale is a key priority for Enterprise Ireland, and we will continue to work closely with MKO to help them maximise their growth potential.”
