Irish founder Michelle Cotter raises €1.4m for Stockholm contract intelligence start-up Juritas in a pre-seed funding round led by Passion Capital.
The funding round for Juritas was led by Passion Capital, with participation from Blackwood, Araya Ventures, Baseline, Angel Invest and the byFounders Angel Collective.
Cotter, Juritas’s solo founder and CEO, previously held leadership roles at legal AI company Legora, Revolut and Epidemic Sound, where she helped scale their enterprise businesses.
“I’ve sat across the table from some of the world’s largest organisations, and I’ve seen the same pattern every time: teams negotiate hard, sign, and move on”
Juritas focuses on the challenge businesses face in keeping track of what happens after contracts are signed.
KEY NUMBERS: Juritas boosts contract values
• €1.4m pre-seed funding round
• 9% average contract value erosion among measuring organisations
• 2026 year Juritas was founded
• 6 investors participating in the round
• 1 lead investor: Passion Capital
• 3 priority areas: engineering, product development, enterprise infrastructure
• 3 core teams: finance, procurement and legal
• Stockholm base and engineering growth focus
Editorial takeaway: Juritas is using fresh capital to scale technology aimed at recovering value businesses lose after contracts are signed.
Finding lost value in contracts
The company says volume discounts can go unclaimed, price increases can go unchallenged, contracts can renew without being noticed, and obligations can slip between finance, procurement and legal teams.
World Commerce & Contracting estimates that organisations measuring contract value erosion lose almost 9% of contract value on average, according to the announcement.

Juritas allows teams to ask questions about their contracts, such as whether a supplier’s volume discount has been triggered. The platform provides an answer citing the relevant clause and showing the action required. It also identifies what teams are owed, what they need to deliver and where action is required before a deadline passes.
The company is initially focusing on supplier contracts, helping procurement and finance teams check supplier commitments and recover value that could otherwise go unclaimed.
‘Everything they need to know is already theirs’
Cotter said her experience working with major organisations had highlighted the difficulties companies encounter after completing negotiations.
“I’ve sat across the table from some of the world’s largest organisations, and I’ve seen the same pattern every time: teams negotiate hard, sign, and move on. Yet everything they need to know is already theirs, written into their own contracts,” said Michelle Cotter, founder and CEO of Juritas.
“That knowledge just rarely reaches the right person at the right time. My ambition is for Juritas to become the intelligence layer safeguarding the value in every contract a business signs.”
The company says advances in AI now make it possible to continuously monitor commitments across all the agreements held by a business, a task that previously involved levels of manual work that few businesses could justify.
Funding to grow Stockholm team
Juritas will use the €1.4 million investment to grow its engineering team in Stockholm, accelerate product development and build the enterprise-grade security and infrastructure required by large customers.
Will Orde, Partner at Passion Capital, said: “Contracts are the operating system of every business, yet almost no company knows what’s really in theirs. It’s one of the largest blind spots in enterprise software. Michelle has seen first-hand what it takes to build a category-defining European company, and she’s bringing that ambition to a problem every enterprise has. We’re thrilled to back her from the very start.”
Juritas was founded by Cotter in 2026 and is based in Stockholm. Its investors include Passion Capital, Baseline, Araya Ventures, Blackwood, Angel Invest and the byFounders Angel Collective.
