20 Irish tech companies rank among EMEA’s fastest-growing technology businesses.
Twenty technology companies from across the island of Ireland have secured places in the prestigious Deloitte EMEA Technology Fast 500 list.
Two Irish firms – Wayflyer and Fibrus – broke into the top 50.
“Even when benchmarked against the fastest growing tech companies from across a wide geographical sphere, Ireland, a small island of around 7m people, has still got 20 companies in this list”
The annual ranking, which recognises the 500 fastest-growing technology companies across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, features an impressive showing from Irish businesses despite the island’s relatively small population.
Strong Irish presence in top rankings
Irish companies made a particularly strong showing in the top 100 rankings. Wayflyer, Deloitte’s 2024 Fast 50 winner, placed 43rd with an exceptional revenue growth rate of 3,169%.
Fibrus followed closely at 48th place with 3,009% growth, while Tines and Buymedia ranked 55th and 73rd with growth rates of 2,786% and 2,208% respectively.
These performances are particularly notable against the backdrop of the overall list, where the average growth rate across all 500 ranked companies was 1,585%.
James Toomey, Fast 50 Lead and Deloitte partner, highlighted the significance of the achievement.
“The Deloitte EMEA Technology Fast 500 highlights the strength of Ireland’s domestic tech sector and the extraordinary abilities of our entrepreneurs. Even when benchmarked against the fastest growing tech companies from across a wide geographical sphere, Ireland, a small island of around 7m people, has still got 20 companies in this list.”
Supporting domestic tech growth
Toomey particularly congratulated the top-performing Irish companies: “Congratulations in particular to Wayflyer, Fibrus, Tines and Buymedia who are in the highest 100 ranked companies out of 500 and topped the list in our 2024 Fast 50 awards.”
Reflecting on the broader significance of these rankings, he added: “We marked the 25th anniversary of Fast 50 in 2024 and it reminded me how intertwined the story of modern Ireland and technology is. Awards like these show that despite global uncertainty, the future for domestic tech growth in Ireland is bright and we must continue to support these companies to grow Domestic Direct Investment (DDI).”
At the top of the overall EMEA list is i-charging, a Portuguese company specialising in hardware and software for electric vehicle charging solutions, which achieved an extraordinary growth rate of 65,881%.
Applications for the 2025 Deloitte Fast 50 ranking are expected to open over the summer, potentially offering another opportunity to showcase Ireland’s thriving technology ecosystem.
