Irish InsurTech Report 2025 reveals 122 firms active nationwide, with 86% planning global expansion into the UK, US and Europe, driven by AI and collaboration.
Ireland’s InsurTech industry is accelerating its international ambitions, with 86% of firms planning to expand into new markets, according to a new report published today by InsTech.ie.
The Irish InsurTech Report 2025 positions Ireland as a global hub for insurance innovation, highlighting a sector that is maturing and increasingly outward-looking.
“We are now seeing Irish innovators selling and scaling abroad faster than ever”
The report, titled Going Global: Ireland’s InsurTech Ambition, reveals that 122 InsurTech companies are now active across 17 counties, spanning 21 solution categories.
Dublin remains the focal point, but the ecosystem’s reach is nationwide. InsTech.ie said the findings reflect a community “deeply connected to global insurance markets” and supported by major incumbents including Allianz, Aviva, AXA, FBD, Irish Life, VHI, Laya, Scor, Unum and Intact.
Ensuring success in insuretech
Irish firms are already making inroads abroad. Twenty-eight percent reported sales into the UK, 15% into Europe and 14% into the US during 2025. Artificial intelligence is central to this growth, with 92.9% of companies citing AI as critical to their business, alongside widespread adoption of large language models for underwriting, claims and customer engagement.
Gary Leyden, chief executive of InsTech.ie, said Ireland’s InsurTech story “is no longer just one of potential, but one of global presence.”
He added: “We are now seeing Irish innovators selling and scaling abroad faster than ever, while international firms continue to choose Ireland as a trusted base for expansion. The maturity and ambition of this community are increasingly evident.”
Ireland’s entry into the Global InsurTech Alliance this year is expected to deepen cross-border collaboration and open new pathways for scaling and investment.
Leyden said programmes such as the Foundry Accelerator and the Digital Sandbox will give start-ups “a secure space to innovate” and strengthen ties with partners across Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific.
International players are also choosing Ireland for its regulatory stability, talent base and collaborative environment. Access to synthetic data and standardised testing through the Digital Sandbox has been cited as a key advantage for firms seeking to validate new technologies.
Leading Irish InsurTechs such as FINEOS, DOCOsoft, Gamma Risk, Exante, Inaza and Kayna are expanding into the UK, US and wider European markets. InsTech.ie said its goal is to accelerate collaboration between these innovators and large incumbents to ensure Ireland maintains its growing reputation as a centre for insurance technology development.
