As AI and energy infrastructure demand accelerates Limerick-based high-voltage engineering specialist establishes North America headquarters in Dallas.
Irish engineering firm H&MV Engineering plans to create 1,000 jobs across the United States over the next five years as it expands its role in delivering the power infrastructure required for the fast-growing AI, data centre, grid and energy sectors.
The Limerick-headquartered high-voltage engineering specialist has established its North American headquarters in Dallas, Texas, positioning itself closer to key customers and major infrastructure projects across the country.
The company, which designs, builds and energises high-voltage substations and grid connections, is currently working on multiple projects across the US ranging from 138kV to 345kV, with Texas and Louisiana among its most active markets.
The planned recruitment drive follows H&MV’s acquisition of Texas-based Cooke Power Services earlier this year and will see the company scale its engineering, construction and project delivery capabilities throughout the US.
KEY NUMBERS: H&MV Engineering’s Growth Story

Editorial takeaway: H&MV’s scale, valuation and project pipeline underline its emergence as one of Ireland’s fastest-growing infrastructure businesses, positioned at the centre of global investment in power networks, data centres and energy systems.
High kings of high voltage
P.J. Flanagan, CEO of H&MV Engineering, said growing investment in power networks is creating significant opportunities for specialist infrastructure providers.
“AI and data center growth is putting huge focus on the need for power infrastructure, but the opportunity is much broader. Across the US, investment in the grid, renewables and battery storage is driving demand for new high-voltage infrastructure. That is exactly where H&MV specialises, and why we see the US as a major part of our next phase of growth.”
Dallas will act as the hub for H&MV’s expanding North American operations, supporting both project delivery and talent recruitment as demand for electrical infrastructure continues to rise.
Ken Gilmartin, executive vice-president, US, H&MV Engineering, said the city provides access to both customers and skilled engineering talent.
“Dallas is the right base for the next stage of our US growth. It puts us close to customers and major growth markets, with access to a deep pool of engineering and construction talent. We’re building the team and capabilities here to deliver complex power infrastructure at scale across the US.”
The US expansion forms part of a period of rapid growth for the Irish company. H&MV said revenues have increased from €61 million in 2020 to more than €1 billion today.
The business was recently valued at approximately €1.4 billion following a new investment transaction designed to provide long-term capital for international expansion.
H&MV currently has more than 24GW of projects in design and construction worldwide, alongside a €2 billion order book and a €16 billion pipeline. The company is targeting annual revenues of €3 billion within the next five years.
Founded in Ireland, H&MV Engineering has grown into a global provider of turnkey high-voltage electrical engineering solutions serving the energy, data centre and industrial infrastructure sectors. The company employs more than 1,900 people and operates from 20 international offices across Ireland, the UK, Europe, the US and Asia. Its project portfolio currently exceeds 24GW of power infrastructure in design and construction.
