The Guinness Enterprise Centre (GEC), one of Ireland’s largest start-up campuses, has reached a major milestone by welcoming its 1,500th resident company, QuizWizards, to its five-storey entrepreneurial hub in The Liberties, Dublin 8.
QuizWizards, founded by Rory McEvoy, is a gamified sports technology company that creates interactive quizzes to boost fan engagement and help organisations better understand their audiences.
“By giving innovative businesses a home where they can succeed, grow – and outgrow – we are nurturing the unicorns of tomorrow”
The company has raised €750,000 to date and recently signed a deal with Leinster Rugby to deliver fan engagement experiences at matches and online.
A home for innovative businesses
QuizWizards joins the GEC alongside two other new residents: The Safer Plug Company, which develops pipeline isolation technology for safe maintenance, and Archetype, an events and experiences agency focused on community and culture.
“We are immensely proud to be the 1,500th company through the Guinness Enterprise Centre’s doors,” said Rory McEvoy, CEO and Founder of QuizWizards
“The energy, support, and network here have given QuizWizards a real boost as we expand our team. What stood out was the warmth and genuine interest the staff showed from day one – you’re never just a number here. The flexibility to grow our office space has been hugely valuable as we ramp up, having raised €750,000 to date, including recent investment from Enterprise Ireland.”
Their arrival coincides with the graduation of four start-ups: Urban Fox, Mobility Mojo, Move Ahead, and Singular Artists. These companies have grown significantly during their time at the GEC. Urban Fox plans to expand its team from eight to 15, while Mobility Mojo expects to grow from eight to 20 by the end of 2026, both in Ireland and internationally.
“Our goal is for resident companies to outgrow us and this milestone reflects the significant impact that the Guinness Enterprise Centre is having on Ireland’s start-up ecosystem and wider economy,” explained Niamh Collins, centre director at the Guinness Enterprise Centre.
“By giving innovative businesses a home where they can succeed, grow – and outgrow – we are nurturing the unicorns of tomorrow. QuizWizards exemplifies the innovation and energy that we see in the Guinness Enterprise Centre every day. Our world-class campus is the ideal foundation for QuizWizards, along with The Safer Plug Company and Archetype, to scale their businesses.”
Resident companies contribute €2m annually to the GEC’s revenues, all of which are reinvested into its facilities and operations. Recent upgrades include a major IT project and enhancements to conference and event spaces to support collaboration and networking.
Established in 2000, the Guinness Enterprise Centre is a not-for-profit organisation supported by founding partners Diageo, Dublin City Council, Dublin City Local Enterprise Office, Enterprise Ireland, and Furthr. It is ranked as the #2 Private Business Incubator in the World by UBI Global.
