GoChallenge raises €500k to revolutionise workplace wellness

Dublin business GoChallenge plans to triple its workforce and break into new markets.

Innovative workplace wellness start-up GoChallenge has successfully closed an oversubscribed €500,000 pre-seed funding round.

The funding will enable it to advance its mission of transforming corporate culture through movement-based team challenges.

Dublin-based GoChallenge plans to use the new capital to triple its workforce with strategic hires in product management, marketing, and customer success, while accelerating its product development and expanding its market presence.

Gaining momentum

“A huge thanks to our investors and everyone who supported us in this investment round,” said John Barron, co-founder and CEO of GoChallenge. “Whether by making introductions, offering advice, or simply cheering us on, the support from Enterprise Ireland and our angel investors has been tremendous.”

Founded in 2023, GoChallenge has already gained significant traction with major employers including Three, Red Hat, Gartner, the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU), SIRO, and American Pan.

The company specialises in delivering inclusive, engaging wellness programs designed to energize teams and foster stronger connections in today’s diverse work environments.

The funding round attracted a diverse group of international investors including Enterprise Ireland and several notable angel investors with backgrounds spanning human resources, professional sports, and financial technology.

Conor O’Donovan, Head of Start-ups at Enterprise Ireland, highlighted the company’s innovative approach. “GoChallenge is an excellent example of a forward-thinking Irish start-up that is using innovative technology to address workplace motivation and increase team output, cohesion and wellbeing. Enterprise Ireland looks forward to working with Caitríona, John and the team as the company grows and brings its service offering to the next level.”

Other key investors include Allison Grace, former Chief HR Officer at Discovery Education; John O’Shea, former Manchester United player and current Assistant Head Coach of the Republic of Ireland national team; Johnny Aitken, former CEO of PointsBet; Alexis Murphy, former CEO of betFIRST; Sean McNelis, former Global Co-Head of Debt Capital Markets at HSBC; and Brian Kelly, former CCO of Corporate Care.

According to company leadership, GoChallenge aims to make movement a daily ritual in workplaces, unlocking better health, higher energy, and stronger team connections regardless of where employees are based.
