Local authorities look to deepen business engagement on climate action goals.
Dublin’s four local authorities have begun preparations for Dublin’s Climate Action Week 2026.
This will be a week-long programme aimed at encouraging businesses, residents and community groups to take part in climate-focused activities.
The week will run from 11 May to 17 May and is being positioned as a practical way for residents and businesses to strengthen their sustainability efforts.

The programme is being coordinated by Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, Dublin City Council, Fingal County Council and South Dublin County Council, supported by the Dublin Metropolitan Climate Action Regional Office and Codema, the region’s energy agency.
Organisers say the schedule will cover a wide range of themes, reflecting both ongoing local authority projects and new community partnerships
Dublin Climate Action Week 2026 will coincide with National Bike Week and National Biodiversity Week bringing together climate action, active travel and the living world around us to highlight the strong connection between sustainable transport, climate solutions and Dublin’s nature and wildlife.
Through workshops, interactive activities and demonstrations participants will have the opportunity to learn how everyday changes can contribute to a more climate sustainable future.
The four directors of Service of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, Dublin City Council, Fingal County Council and South Dublin County Council stated: “We are delighted to launch Dublin Climate Action Week 2026. This collaboration with National Bike Week and National Biodiversity Week will present a fantastic range of events, encouraging all to participate in meaningful action towards a climate resilient future.
