European healthcare software provider Dedalus announces €10m Irish expansion, creating 100 high-value jobs over four years with IDA support.
European healthcare software provider Dedalus will create 100 high-value jobs in Ireland over the next four years as part of a €10 million expansion, bringing its total Irish workforce to 150 people.
The Dublin-based company, which already partners with the HSE and hospitals across Ireland, will scale its operations in software engineering, product management, clinical informatics, data analytics, cybersecurity and implementation services.
“This investment allows us to expand our Irish team and capabilities while helping unlock the full value of Ireland’s healthcare data”
Taoiseach Micheál Martin, TD, welcomed the investment, saying it would “support the delivery of better, more connected healthcare services while reinforcing Ireland as a key player in the European health technology ecosystem.”
“Ireland is central to our mission to help healthcare systems deliver safer, more connected care,” said Cathy McCartan, executive director of Dedalus Healthcare Ireland. “This investment allows us to expand our Irish team and capabilities while helping unlock the full value of Ireland’s healthcare data.”
Digital health drive
The expansion comes as Dedalus supports major digital health initiatives across Ireland, including system modernisation at Beaumont Hospital where 3,000 staff have been trained on new clinical applications, and laboratory upgrades at St James’s Hospital that process over 12 million tests annually.
The company has also developed national digital infrastructure including Ireland’s first National Terminology Service and the National Medicinal Product Catalogue, which aims to improve prescribing safety and care coordination.
Peter Burke, TD, Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, described the decision as “a strong endorsement of our talent base and our reputation as a hub for innovation in health technology.”
Dedalus acquired Irish healthcare appointment platform Swiftqueue in 2021, which now manages over four million appointments annually. The company’s electronic health record systems are used in the care of one in three European citizens.
Michael Lohan, IDA Ireland’s chief executive, said the investment “underscores Ireland’s track record as a leading location for digital health and enterprise software” and would strengthen the country’s position in Europe’s health-tech sector.
