AI changes how brands are discovered
The agency is also evolving its approach to PR as AI-powered search and generative AI play a growing role in how consumers discover, research and evaluate brands.
Conjure is placing greater emphasis on credible third-party media coverage as part of a brand’s wider digital presence.
“When I founded Conjure five years ago, the ambition was to build an independent agency that was genuinely collaborative, commercially minded and focused on doing work that made a tangible difference for clients. Five years on, that ambition hasn’t changed, but the industry around us has,” said Anthony O’Brien Bedford, managing director of Conjure Communications.

“Doubling the size of the business over the past two years is a significant milestone for us, particularly because that growth has come alongside new team members, new clients and recognition for the work we’re producing. We’ve been fortunate to build long-term relationships with brilliant businesses while also continuing to bring new brands into the agency.”
O’Brien Bedford said changes in online discovery are influencing how the agency thinks about the role of earned media and brand authority.
“We’re also seeing a fundamental shift in how people discover and assess brands. As AI tools and search platforms increasingly become part of that process, the value of credible third-party sources is only becoming more important. A brand talking about itself on its own channels is one thing; having independent journalists, publications and experts talking about that brand creates a different level of authority and credibility.”
Looking to the next five years
Since launching in 2021, Conjure has focused on combining strategic communications and creative storytelling to build brand reputation, generate media coverage and connect brands with their audiences.
Its client portfolio encompasses established Irish businesses, growing brands and organisations operating internationally, with its work spanning consumer, lifestyle, food and drink, arts, technology, health, sustainability and corporate communications.
As the company enters its sixth year, its plans include developing its team and client portfolio, pursuing sustainable growth and continuing to evolve its approach to communications.
“For us, that means evolving how we think about PR while staying true to the fundamentals – great ideas, great storytelling and genuine relationships. Being independent means we can adapt quickly, and that puts us in an exciting position as we look towards the next five years,” O’Brien Bedford said.
