An Taisce and Ireland Chapter of PMI partner for Climate Action Week 2025
Recent survey findings from the Ireland Chapter of PMI indicate that 75% of project management professionals believe organisations are more interested in sustainability than they were a year ago.
Additionally, 45% of respondents have already managed projects focused on sustainability, and 90% consider project management important for achieving sustainability goals.
“At a time when sustainability is an ever-increasing priority for Irish organisations, it is ever more important for people to work together and take action”
The findings were revealed as An Taisce, the National Trust for Ireland, revealed a partnership with the Ireland Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI) ahead of Ireland’s ninth Climate Action Week, taking place from 13 to 19 October 2025.
Climate Action, the time is now
“At a time when sustainability is an ever-increasing priority for Irish organisations, it is ever more important for people to work together and take action,” said Peter Glynne, President of the Ireland Chapter of PMI.
“By collaborating with An Taisce on Climate Action Week, we hope to encourage and empower people to do something which has real social impact and benefits our planet.”
Throughout the week, hundreds of events, talks and workshops will be held across the country to support climate-resilient communities. Tailors’ Hall in Dublin 8 will serve as a central Climate Action Hub, featuring an indoor and outdoor gallery, workshop space and gathering area for participants.
A new low-carbon website has been launched to support Climate Action Week. It offers resources for community groups and organisations and provides a platform for event organisers to promote their activities.
In previous years, Climate Action Week has featured a wide range of activities including neon bike discos, tree planting, themed film screenings, fashion swap shops, sustainable food trails, neighbourhood dinners and climate-focused comedy nights.
The Ireland Chapter of PMI is contributing its project management expertise to An Taisce and encouraging its 3,500 members to participate by organising events in their workplaces, schools, colleges and communities.
“We are delighted to partner with the Ireland Chapter of PMI in 2025 to bring Climate Action Week to the next level,” said Cathy Baxter, Education and Community Action Director at An Taisce, said.
“Already, I can see our Climate Action Team benefitting from their extensive project management experience, and we are excited to see how this relationship evolves in An Taisce.”
