Bank of Ireland is providing €30m in funding to Castlethorn towards the construction of 147 residential units, a creche and a retail unit in Dublin 15.
Castlethorn has been building high-quality, large-scale development projects in Ireland for more than three decades, with over 9,000 homes delivered since 1990.
A new deal with Bank of Ireland will see the construction of 147 residential units consisting of 123 houses and 24 apartments at Luttrellstown Gate, Dublin 15.
“The design, amenities, and overall vision for Luttrellstown Gate reflect our dedication to quality, sustainability and the unique needs of modern living”
“The transaction allows Bank of Ireland to play its part in supporting the supply of much needed housing to the market by a developer with a track record of delivering high quality homes, sustainable schemes, and thriving communities,” explained Nikki Canavan, Head of Housing & Development Finance in Bank of Ireland’s Corporate & Commercial division.
She explained that the project will deliver private homes suitable for First Time Buyers and those looking to trade up into a larger home in an excellent location, well served by a number of transport links and amenities.
The development will incorporate a large open space comprising a playing pitch, two multi games areas and a playground, as well as delivering a creche and retail unit which will all benefit the local community.
Supporting sustainable schemes
Earlier this year, Bank of Ireland announced that it is increasing available funding for housing development to €2.5bn by 2026. This represents a 40% increase in funding available for home building, with the ambition to support the construction of 25,000 units of all types, including houses and apartments across private, social and affordable schemes.
“Supporting the supply of high quality, sustainable schemes is a strategic priority for the Group, and this project provides an opportunity to deliver on this objective with one of Irelands leading house builders” Canavan said.
The project will be an environmentally responsible, low-impact development, aligning with Castlethorn and Bank of Ireland’s commitment to sustainability. Each home constructed will have an “A2” Energy Rating.
Ronan Columb, Group Managing Director of Castlethorn, added: “These are exciting times for Castlethorn as we officially launch our newest development in Dublin 15, Luttrellstown Gate.
“The design, amenities, and overall vision for Luttrellstown Gate reflect our dedication to quality, sustainability and the unique needs of modern living.
“We have delivered homes in the Dublin 15 area since 1997, and we are proud to be part of its future with Luttrellstown Gate and ultimately deliver a community where our residents will be proud to call home. We would like to thank all our partners, including Bank of Ireland’s National Housing team, who have played a significant role in bringing this project to fruition,” Columb said.
