ALDI Ireland partners with Arigna Fuels in €1.2m sustainable heating initiative.
ALDI Ireland has kindled a €1.2m partnership with Arigna Fuels, a family-run business based in Co Roscommon.
This will see it bring a new renewable heating product, Harvest Flame, to all 164 ALDI stores nationwide. The two-year agreement marks a significant step in ALDI’s commitment to sustainability and support for Irish suppliers.
“Harvest Flame is engineered for efficiency and sustainability, offering a reliable alternative to traditional solid fuels while supporting Ireland’s transition to a low-carbon economy”
Harvest Flame, made from 100% renewable plant-based materials, will be available in stores starting Thursday, 21 August. The product has previously been offered as a Specialbuy and is now being rolled out nationwide due to strong demand and the success of the collaboration.
Light up, light up
“We’re excited to partner with Arigna through this €1.2m initiative, which reflects our ongoing dedication to sustainability and supporting local Irish suppliers,” said Barry Kirwan, Buying Director at ALDI Ireland, said.
“At ALDI, we are committed to making sustainability affordable for our customers, so shoppers can feel confident they are making responsible, sustainable choices when they shop with us.”
Arigna Fuels, which employs 45 staff, has invested in building Europe’s largest biochar production facility in Roscommon to support the development of Harvest Flame.
The product is designed for use in stoves, open fires, and outdoor fire pits, offering higher heat output and lower emissions than traditional solid fuels. It is made from olive stones, a by-product of olive oil production, ensuring no trees are felled in the process.
“We are delighted to announce our partnership with ALDI to bring Harvest Flame, our sustainable biomass product, to households across the country,” said Conor Layden, Commercial Director of Arigna Group.
“This partnership represents a strategic advancement in our commercial expansion and reinforces our commitment to delivering renewable, low-emission heating solutions. Harvest Flame is engineered for efficiency and sustainability, offering a reliable alternative to traditional solid fuels while supporting Ireland’s transition to a low-carbon economy.”
