What is SAP?

SAP (Systems, Applications and Products), was created in 1972 by five former IBM employees in Mannheim, Germany. 

SAP states that it is the world’s largest inter-enterprise software company and the world’s fourth-largest independent software supplier. There are other types of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software including Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics and Oracle.

So what exactly is SAP?

SAP allows businesses to track customer and business interactions. SAP can handle an organisation’s human resources, sales, distribution, finance, warehouse, security and many more areas of the business. SAP also has specific solutions for a wide range of industries including insurance, finance, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, etc.
