Guaranteed Irish puts its stamp on 50 years

A Guaranteed Irish commemoration stamp has created with An Post to mark the 50th year of the symbol of trust for supporting businesses in Ireland.

The national symbol of trust was launched in 1974 and is celebrating its fifty year anniversary this year (2024).

Guaranteed Irish member businesses support more than 150,000 jobs throughout the country.

“When we work together,  as we saw during the pandemic, the experience can benefit our local economies, our supply chain and our environment”

Designed by Dublin-based CI Studio, the special stamp captures the essence of Guaranteed Irish in a simple and playful way, with the iconic symbol rendered in gold.  A hand selecting the green dot over the ‘I’ represents the act of choosing to support businesses in Ireland.

The ‘N’ rate €1.40 stamp covers postage across the island of Ireland and the stamp and specially designed first day cover envelope are available from 8th February online and selected post offices nationwide.

The not for profit supports a network of businesses from indigenous to locally based global leaders throughout the country.

“The 50th anniversary presents a lovely opportunity for us to work with genuine business members, new and existing, who are committed to Ireland and its workforce. When we work together,  as we saw during the pandemic, the experience can benefit our local economies, our supply chain and our environment,” said Guaranteed Irish CEO Brid O’Connell.

“We facilitated many of our smaller business members to move onto an ecommerce platform and An Post offered a fast, efficient and agile solution for logistics. Guaranteed Irish Gift member businesses continue to partner with An Post today.

“Guaranteed Irish has supported the Irish economy for the last fifty years and looks forward to sustaining this focus for the next five decades. We have evolved to represent our members in a more relevant manner and the support from a business such as An Post has been steadfast, so the stamp is a really fitting way to celebrate this anniversary together”.

Welcoming the Guaranteed Irish stamp, An Post CEO, David McRedmond said: “We recognise the importance of Guaranteed Irish as the national symbol of  trust in business in Ireland.

“Their work promotes all businesses based in Ireland large and small, supporting fair working conditions and a growth economy. In this regard Guaranteed Irish and An Post have a lot in common and together we are helping build sustainable Irish businesses and communities for the future.”
