New store brings total capital investment by ALDI in Offaly to €18.8m since 2000.
ALDI has opened a new store in Tullamore that will result in 30 new permanent jobs in the local community.
The new store represents an investment of over €9.8m in the area, bringing the total investment by ALDI in Offaly to €18.8m since opening its first store in the county in 2000.

The new Tullamore store is ALDI’s 163rd store in Ireland since first arriving here 25 years ago.
Local commitment
Since opening its first Offaly store in Edenderry in 2000, ALDI has invested over €18.8m in capital infrastructure the county.
The retailer employs over 76 people across its three stores in Offaly, spending over €1.5m on wages annually. On top of this, last year ALDI spent an additional €23m with its Offaly food suppliers.
“We are delighted to unveil ALDI’s second store in Tullamore today. This new store will deliver 30 new local jobs and is testament to our ongoing commitment to providing value, choice and convenience to our Offaly customers.
“This new store comes at a key time when Irish consumers continue to face high costs of living,” said Yasmin Rourke, ALDI’s Tullamore store manager.
“The new ALDI store in Tullamore will offer a wide range of fresh, high-quality Irish produce at excellent value. We strive to provide the best shopping experience, and the spacious, modern design of our new Tullamore store makes it easy for customers to find everything they need, supported by our committed and hardworking team.”
The spacious new 1,650sqm store features ALDI’s award-winning Project Fresh layout, with wide aisles and high-spec fixtures and fittings. ALDI shoppers will have access to 91 car parking spaces, including nine electric vehicle charging spaces, and 22 bike parking spaces.
Additionally, ALDI has introduced self-service checkouts at select stores, including the brand-new Tullamore store, which will feature seven self-service checkout terminals.
“The new Tullamore store creates valuable local employment opportunities for Offaly, supporting the economic growth of the area with high-quality, well-paid jobs,” said Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine Senator Pippa Hackett, TD.
