100 new medtech jobs for Carrick-on-Shannon

Founded in 1999 in Carrick-On-Shannon, VistaMed currently employs 525 people.

Irish-founded medtech contract manufacturer VistaMed has revealed plans to create 100 new jobs at its facility in Carrick-on-Shannon in Co. Leitrim.

VistaMed, a Freudenberg Medical company, employs 525 people between its R&D Innovation Centre at Carrick-on-Shannon and its manufacturing facilities in Roosky and Carrick-on-Shannon.

“This announcement from VistaMed is a welcome boost for Carrick-on-Shannon and the surrounding area,” said Minister for State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment Robert Troy, TD.

“The expansion will see the company providing an array of skilled employment opportunities to the people of Leitrim. VistaMed are industry leaders, and their decision to expand in Leitrim is a strong endorsement of the talent and resources in the region. VistaMed’s clients include major blue-chip companies in the MedTech industry. Its products have evolved in terms of form and complexity since its foundation, to a high-value product solutions provider offering product design, development, component manufacturing including labelling, packaging and sterilisation support for customers.

The company produces a diverse range of catheter-based products used in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures such as cardiology, electrophysiology, peripheral stent delivery systems, urology, endoscopy, neurology and pain management.
