Thinking about taking your business online? You could be entitled to a government grant.

Did you know the government have a grant of up to €2,500 available to SMEs to help get them online? The Trading Online Voucher Scheme is designed to help Irish businesses start trading online, offering not only cash but also training and advice. Thousands of businesses are already participating in the scheme.

The grant is of particular importance as, according to research carried out by the IE Domain Registry (IEDR), 40% of Irish SMEs don’t have a website, and 68% of those that do have a website don’t have the facility to process payments online.

Irish consumers spend an average of €8.5 million online every day, and with most Irish businesses lacking e-commerce options, 80% of this business goes to overseas retailers.

Do you qualify?

Your business qualifies for the grant if:

•    You employ no more than ten people;

•    Your turnover is less than €2m;

•    You have been trading for at least 12 months;

•    Your business is located in the region of the local enterprise office to which you are applying.
