Where: The RDS Simmons Court
When: Oct 4th, 2017 and June 6th, 2018
One of Ireland’s leading student career events, GradIreland hosts symposiums, master classes and recruitment awards for students throughout Ireland. There are two main events in Dublin and several throughout the country. The showcase events are in the RDS Simmon’s Court on October 4th and again in June 2018, with most of Ireland’s leading student recruitment companies attending.
Where: Mansion House Dublin
When: October 5th, 2017
UpStarter was formed in 2016 and attracts some of the biggest names in tech and business in Ireland. There’s also an added dimension of getting the chance to sit down with a recruiter over a pint. Budding entrepreneurs can also come along and meet like-minded co-founders.
Where: Galway Racecourse
When: 23rd September, 2017
With over 80 employers, 60 speakers and four stages, Career Zoo is aimed at graduates and young workers.
Where: RDS Arena
When: October 10th to 12th, 2017
One of the newest candidates on this list, Zeminar takes place in the RDS Simmonscourt on October 10-12th. Billed as ‘The Zeiminar for generation Z’, the event is targeted at 15-20-year-old students and their parents, teachers, guidance councilors, mentors, and coaches. With a range of guest speakers from Blindboy from the Rubberbandits to Harry McCann from the Digital Youth Council of Ireland, the emphasises this year is on mental health, networking and jobs.
College Careers Fairs
Where: In 33 colleges nationwide
When: Sept 23rd and October 23rd, 2017
Many of these events are run in conjunction with GradIreland where employers come to your college or university. It is an excellent opportunity for job seekers as many Alumni return to speak to students about their career path and how the current students can apply for positions. Also, there are CV clinics and mock interviews for students to improve on current skills.
Where: the Galway Bay Hotel in Galway; the Croke Park Conference Centre in Dublin and the UCC Conference Centre in Cork
When: 16th September, 21st October, and 25th November, 2017
With events in three of Ireland’s largest cities, boasting over 70,000 candidates, 100 speakers and 300 employers in six years, Jobs Expo is one of Ireland’s largest recruitment fairs. The events attract many of Ireland’s top recruiters as well as having a dedicated international zone for those students who are thinking of emigrating or traveling upon graduating.
Intreo Careers Fair
Where: The Printworks Dublin
When: Thursday, 28th September, 2017
To celebrate ‘Jobs Week’, The Department of Welfare hosts an expo for those on social welfare (particularly job seeker’s allowance) on Thursday, 28th of September. Promoting the event, the department says there will be several hundred jobs available on the day and that there will also be a CV and interview clinics.
Agri Career Fairs
Where: RDS Main Arena
Taking place in The RDS main arena The Argi Careers fairs is for those interested in careers in the agricultural sector. With everything from exhibitors such as the Irish Farmers Journal to recruiters such as Fyffes, Dawn Meets, Glanbia, to colleges that specialise in all levels of third level education, the Agri Careers Fair is Ireland’s top careers fair for the agricultural industry.
Construction Careers Fairs Expo
Where: Croke Park Dublin
When: Early November
Aimed at carpenters, joiners, electricians, plasterers, tillers, plumbers, painters and decorators, bricklayers or anyone else who is looking at a career in the construction industry, the Construction Careers Expo is run by the same company as the Jobs Expo (Careers Unlimited) and has had over 70,000 attendees since 2012.
Where: Dublin Castle
The student summit is aimed at students who either have a startup or are thinking of starting a business when they leave college. With workshops, motivational speakers and startups exhibitors, this is an event for students who either want to work for themselves and have an entrepreneurial mindset.
