Parcel deliveries are predicted to increase by over 60pc in Q4 of this year, compared to the same period last year for Fastway in Ireland.
Fastway Couriers (Ireland) is ramping up its delivery operations by creating 600 seasonal roles, including drivers and warehouse staff throughout its Irish network, to support the expected increase in delivery volumes for the remainder of the year.
The move to hire more staff comes as parcel deliveries are predicted to increase by over 60 per cent in Q4 of this year, compared to the same period last year for the group.
Fastway Couriers was founded as a franchise in Ireland in 2001, having originated in New Zealand in 1983, and is one of the four largest courier delivery businesses in Ireland, handling over 25 million parcels every year. The company employs and supports over 800 people throughout the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Fastway Couriers (Ireland) also run the Parcel Connect brand for online shopping delivery services, providing the largest pick-up and drop-off network in the country.

Over the last number of years, the dramatic increase in online activity has been phenomenal, however, this has been supercharged by Covid-19.

The company is strongly positioned within the retail and e-commerce space and with the additional investment in seasonal drivers and warehouse staff, means the network will be well equipped to handle the expected increase in traffic from online shopping.
