Are you a food and drink SME with ambitions to export to new markets? Here is a guide for you.

The Food & Drink Exporter’s Guide is aimed primarily at first-time food and drink exporters but “should also prove useful to early-stage exporters with plans to expand into new markets”.

The guide takes a step-by-step approach to the export journey. It begins with the question – ‘Is exporting right for my company?’

It then shows SMEs how to identify export opportunities, how to write an export plan, how to choose a route to market as well as how to sell their goods and then get paid.

The target markets explored in the guide are Southeast England, France, Benelux, Germany, Scandinavia and the US. The guide was published following the Access 6 programme.

“We hope the guide will encourage SMEs to consider export opportunities for their companies,” says Simon McKeever, CEO of the Irish Exporters’ Association. “The guide adopts a practical approach and highlights both the benefits and challenges that need to be considered.”
