Donegal town is an attractive vibrant town overlooking Donegal Bay on the Wild Atlantic Way.
Having a Diamond at its centre makes it easily accessible for visitors and locals to explore the abundance of shops, dining, cultural and heritage attractions, bars and entertainment suitable for all tastes and ages.
From a business point of view Donegal town has always been progressive but in the last five years this has gained momentum and continues to flourish beyond our expectations.
Following on from its 2018 success in this competition as first runner-up in its category investment and development has continued throughout all areas of the town by private, local and diaspora investors.
In the Lurganboy Area Pramerica set up a digital hub servicing the south-west of the county. The Abbott Ireland extension is progressing well. Moll Ireland has completed the first phase of its development and Cherrymore has finished its new showroom.
Ongoing development is taking place in other areas of the town such as The Mullins and the Diamond. More recently funding has been secured by two local voluntary organisations for a new Marine Centre on the Pier.
Many events take place throughout the year. These include the St Patricks Day Parade, Christmas Lights Switch On, Summer Festivals, and A Taste of Donegal Food Festival. It is great to see so many hard-working individuals, committees, volunteers whose community sSpirit is very evident as all the above work together to support each other when help is required.
Donegal town is naturally an enterprising town showing ongoing evidence of innovation and enterprise development whose success is determined by continuous collaboration between the community, businesses and local public bodies.
