Bank of Ireland launch new academy with TCD

The Treasury Academy workshops take place over the course of one day and share expertise in treasury strategies and risk management.

Bank of Ireland has announced details of a new Treasury Academy in partnership with Trinity Business School.

The Treasury Academy is aimed at supporting businesses to develop their understanding of treasury risks and solutions, which will be done through a series of workshops and interactive sessions.

The Academy is a key component of Bank of Ireland’s Financial Wellbeing programme for businesses, and a part of Trinity Business School’s executive education offering.

Bank of Ireland’s Financial Wellbeing programme is designed to empower people to take control of their finances and ultimately support better financial decision making for themselves, their families, and their businesses.

The programme will be co-delivered by senior members of Bank of Ireland’s global markets team and Trinity Business School professors practice professionals. It covers a range of topics including; economics and markets outlook, treasury policy and FX hedging strategies, foreign exchange risk management, interest rate risk management, treasury accounting and debt financing. All participants receive a certificate in executive development from Trinity Business School upon completion of the day-long course.

Speaking about the Treasury Academy series, Sean Crowe, CEO markets and treasury at Bank of Ireland said, “The management of financial risks is of critical importance for any company with exposures to the financial markets. To help our customers navigate these risks, we have co-developed the Bank of Ireland Treasury Academy with the Trinity Business School.

“Participants enhance their understanding of treasury products and risk management solutions and contribute positively to the financial wellbeing of their business. We look forward to rolling out more of these events in the coming months.”

Michael Flynn, director of executive education, Trinity Business School added: “We are delighted to enter in to this partnership with Bank of Ireland, co-delivering the Treasury Academy programme and developing a programme that will benefit all who attend. Our team of world class lecturers look forward to contributing to the academy over the coming months.

“Education is a key component of Bank of Ireland’s Financial Wellbeing Programme for businesses, and also underpins our objective of working closely with businesses at Trinity College Dublin. The Treasury Academy series has been tailored specifically for businesses and attendees are certain to gain an enhanced understanding of treasury strategies and risk management at these workshops.”

The most recent event in the series took place on June 11th at Bank of Ireland Burlington Plaza in Dublin, with further events later in the year to take place in the new Business School building at Trinity College Dublin.
